# Invite organization members

Invite members to your PubNub organization when they need access to apps, keysets, usage data, or account administration.

## Before you start

Confirm you have:

* An **Account Owner** or **Account Admin** role in the organization. Only these roles can manage members.
* The email address of the person you want to invite.

## Invite a member

1. Log in to [Admin Portal](https://admin.pubnub.com).
2. Select your email address in the top-right corner to open the account menu.
3. Select **Organization settings**.
4. Open the **Members** tab.
5. Select **Add member**.
6. Enter the member's email address.
7. Select a role. For the full list of roles, their permissions, and which roles cannot be combined, see [Admin Portal roles](https://www.pubnub.com/docs/security/admin-portal-roles.md).
8. Select **Send invitation**.

The member receives an invitation email. After accepting, they can switch between their personal account and your organization using the account menu. The role you assigned applies only within your organization, not to their personal account.

:::note Account Owner
Every organization has one Account Owner: the user who created the organization. The Account Owner has the same access as Account Admin and cannot be removed, reassigned, or managed through the Members tab.
